Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa & Sons; a reputed and well-known Betel nut merchants of Bheemasamudra, Chitradurga District have ventured into the Education field with a deep sense of social service. It is the fore vision, high ambition, and initiation of our beloved founder Chairman Late Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa; Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Davangere who carved a niche by establishing Srishyla Educational Trust (Regd.) in the year 2000.

1. To provide quality education to students and there by contributing knowledgeable and value-based Human resources to the Country.
2. To serve society through resourceful knowledge.

The Trust is propelled productively by the strong vision and leadership of Sri. G. M. Prasanna Kumar, the present Chairman, and Sri. G. M. Lingaraju, the secretary, ably assists him in fostering his noble ideas. Srishyla Educational Trust is managed effectively and efficiently by the trustees to meet its objectives.

Having a great vision on the increasing trend in Science and Technology to meet the challenges of the 21st Century, Srishyla Educational Trust (Regd.); has started the Engineering Institution 'GM INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY' in Davangere during 2001.

GM HALAMMA Pre – University College is established in the year 2003 by Srishyla Educational Trust. Srishyla Educational Trust was established in the year 2000, by the great visionary and statesman Late Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Davangere. He had a strong desire to uplift the education standards of the sub-urban and rural youth.

Smt. Halamma Mallikarjunappa is the wife of Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa. Just like her statesman husband Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa, she also believed that rural education can bring prosperity to Kannada Naadu. Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa stressed on technical and management education and Smt. Halamma Mallikarjunappa wanted strong basic educational foundation for the underprivileged children. Together they established GMH PU College for the benefit of the students of Davanagere.
